Rune lapped at the water that belonged to the river. She flicked her ears and heard rough coughing. Rune looked over at the mass of rocks and the Blood elf who was leaning against them, asleep. What he needed to do was drnk some water. After stopping the bleeding she sensed him haveing a feaver. The rough coughing sounded again, and Rune cringed. She padded over and pushed her nose under his chin. He was way to warm. But she was trying to ease the pain. he blood elf only cuddled into the fur. The now blue wolf blinked the laid down, and the blood elf fallowed. The warmth in her fur must feel really good. Well when you are sick you feel really cold. Rune half closed her eyes.
'I'll be your friend.' she thought silently. Her tail wagging slightly, sweeping the ground. Rune flicked her ears, hearing something splash in the water. With out a second thought she stood up slowly, and growled. The splashing grew louder, but there was now view what so ever due to the rocks. The splashing stopped, and went away, light steps taking its place but the steps were fading away going somewhere else. Rune relaxed a little. She sat down, still morning and yet no sun. The clouds were over head, and it was a drizzle of rain. Rune gave a short sigh. Looking down at the Blood elf, she wondered what his name was. She was able to speak many languages, and it would be easy learning names to her. She was the center of nature. Then again, she had no friends but the Ghostpw packs that fallow her... only now they fight over territory, and prey. She gave another sigh. She would rather be friends with this guy instead of them who only think about battle and death.... mainly shedding blood. Rune streched and stood up, in the procress, waking up the blood elf. He gazed wirily at Rune for moment, and then rested his head on his arm. From the looks of it, he wouldn't care about death at the moment.
'why save me?' he thought. The pain in his chest wasn't as bad from last night, the blasted armor didn't do a thing against that creature, and he managed to get away. Pitaful.... Rune pushed her nose against his cheek, and he rubbed her muzzle. He sat up, looking at the wolf.
"h-hello?" he muttered, still a bt dizzy from the blood loss. Rune nodded, and now the blood elf was confused, now that the wolf was understanding him. Maybe he was in a dream.
"Why didn't y-you try to kill me?" half the sentance wasn't a problem to speak. Rune thought about it for a second.
"I don't like to see suffering." she answered back which shocked the Blood elf, and he held his head.
"You talk.... must be dreaming." he muttered. Rune shook her head.
"This is very much real, blood elf. My names Rune. Whats yours?" Rune barked. The blood elf looked at her. If he was dreaming he wouldn't be feeling this aweful pain.
"Zaru'Rai Kinichai." he answered back. Rune tilted her head. Zaru'Rai rested against the rock. It was the pain that was bothering him. Rune watched Zaru'Rai for a moment.
"I guess this isn't a dream.... huh?" he muttered, not looking at the blue wolf. She shook her head.
"Not a dream one bit." she barked quietly. Zaru'rai coughed lightly, then looked at Rune.
"how long have you been talking?" he asked. Rune flicked one shreded ear.
"I'm still a puppy..... so not long." she barked again. The blood elf looked at her.
"You are one big puppy then." he said slowly. She tilted her head returning the stare. Zaru-Rai gave a short and quiet laugh.
"You are one special wolf then." he muttered. Rune pressed her nose against his cheek.
"ANd friendly. WHat you wanna be friends?" Zaru'Rai asked. Rune had already adopted him. Zaru'Rai just patted Rune on the head, smiling over the pain. He then gazed at the river, no sun light, the clouds looked heavy. He could just remember last night. He closed his green eyes, and the image of the demon flashed in his mind.
Blood spilled on the ground when Zaru'Rai cut down an attacking Ghostclaw lynx. He looked at the sword for a second, and looked on. He was asigned to kill the giant spiders to the north. On the way he had encountered countless scourge zombies and Lynx. He shook his head, and continued on. Though, Zaru'Rai saw something further up that he hadn't seen or heard of before. About seven yards away, there was a creature. It was leaning over something, it seemed to be eating. Zaru'Rai heard the sound of breaking bones, and the demon stood up. Its legs were like that of a cats. There was a tail, that has armored with what seemed to be like bones, sharpened to the point. The body was full height now, and it was very skinny, to the point where you could see the ribs, but those weren't the creatures ribs, no, it was the armor. The head came up, and it had the shape of another creatures skull. The demon lashed its tail, and rose its head. Quickly, Zaru'Rai ran behind a tree. The creature was sniffing the air. There was a quick growl and Zaru'Rai looked from his hiding place, and saw dark glowing red eyes with in the skull, and he thought he could see sharp broken fangs. Dead twigs broke under the creature claws as it walked towards the tree the Blood elf was hiding behind. Zaru'Rai could hear the creature breath, and he ducked in time to see the tree fall over when the creature claws darted out. Zaru'Rai turned around, swords blade meeting something that sounded to much like metal. Face to face with the demon, and he diod see a grin, and in those red eyes, insanity. The demon roared at him, the claws on its feet digging into the ground, pushing against Zaru'Rais weapon, to the point the blade was scarping against Zaru'Rai's armor.
"Hello handsome." the dmeon hissed, grinning with pure insanity. The demon was indeed a female, wasn't that hard to tell, even in this darkness. Zaru'Rai felt his body being pushed back till something met his own back. Great a tree, and he glared at the demon, trying to push back. No use the demon was much stronger. The Creature nose was barely an inch away from his owns, then he felt sudden pain rise in his back, and heard cracking. At first, Zaru'Rai thought it was his own back breaking due to the pain, but it wasn't, no, it was the tree it self. the demon was pushing so hard that she wanted him to go through the tree. Zaru'Rai tryed not to panic, so he kicked the demon in the stomach, sending her back a few feet. She held her stomach for a second then pounced at him, claws ou stretched. Zaru'Rai barely had time to dodge the attack, claws tore through his armor, reaching his chest, but not enough strength to do much harm. He slashed back at thhe demon. The sword blade met her shoulder, and heard her howl in pain. Now furious, she started to claw away the armor, and jumped back. The demon seemed to dsappear into the night, light fading mist. He was awar she was stalking him. In this dark, it was hard to tell where she is. To late, the demon was apon him. Zaru'Rai was pinned to the ground, claws tearng into his chest. He cringed at the pain, refusing to make a sound. The demon hissed coldly, then stood up, her claws on her foot holding Zaru'Rai down.
"Don't make me kill you, pretty boy." the demon hissed, the claws digging into his chest to the point Zaru'Rai coughed in pain.
"I bet it hurts." the demon howled with laughter. Bending over, she came to eyes level, and gabbed his chn.
"I'll let you live if you come serve the Shattered Skull Clan. Obey Mistress Wolfdream, and don't try to resist orders." she hissed. The demons ears that were under the skull helmet pressed against her head.
"But if you happen to refuse, I'll do one of two things." she dug her claws deeper into Zaru'Rais chest. He flinched, and the glared at the demon.
"I will make you my Mistresses next meal, or her slave. You wouldn't have no choice as i gave you then." she hissed, narrowed the blood red eyes of hers. The demon rose her body back to full height, letting go of the Blood elf's chin and looked at him.
"What is your answer?" she asked. Zaru'Rai flinched again when the claws kept digging into his chest.
"I.... I refuse that offer." he growled. The demon hissed, not in anger, but with the joy of the hunt.
"Then this is going to be interesting." she hissed grabbing his neck, and holding him off the ground, and threw him against the tree.
"I just letting you know. I'm the weakest out of the Clan. ANd there isn't many." she laughed, "you can consider youself lucky you didn't fall apon one of the Hunters, or much stronger warriors, Blood elf. Misstress Wolfdream have been waiting for someone like you to come wondering on our territory, and she was right, a blood elf has." she cackled and lunged at him. Zaru'Rai ducked under the demon, and grabbed his sword, thrusting it into the back of the demon. The creature hissed, turning and breaking the sword. Zaru'Rai looked in disbeliefe at the broken blade. The demon jumped at him again, and he dodged, just barley, and he scrambled away, running as fast as he can. He couldn't kill the creature with a broken sword, and let alone, that, the demon broke a tree with only on strike of her claws. He was unaware of the blood trail he left behind....
Zaru'Rai blinked.
"Did you happen to come across a demon?" he asked Rune. The wolf nodded. She licked her own chest, showing a few scars the demon had left.
"D-dd you kill it?" he stammered. Rune nodded again.
"t was weak enough with the blood the demon was loosing. Plus I was stronger than I am now." she barked. Zaru'Rai gave a sigh of relief, but there were more. The sShattered Skull Clan. If that demon was the weakest, he didn't want to see what would happen if he came across a much stronger one. Rune blinked. The wave of uneasyness that came from Zaru'Rai worried her.
"Don't worry. I doubt it had others fallowing it. I will be there to fight them off. I swear this." she barked. Zaru'Rai looked at her.
"Why?" he asked.
"Lets just say I have adopted you as my friend." she barked happily. Zaru'Rai gave a quiet laugh, still uneasy. Rune stretched and laid down.
"Zaru'Rai..... get some sleep, you were weak enough when I found you." she muttered, and Zaru'Rai only nodded.
